Study at uOttawa

The University of Ottawa is the largest bilingual (English-French) university in the world. Located at the heart of Canada’s capital, we have ready access to the great institutions of our country.

International student

A student from a country other than Canada, neither a Canadian citizen nor permanent resident, who is pursuing a degree and must pay international tuition fees.

Sponsored student

A student whose studies at the University of Ottawa are funded in whole or in part by his or her government or by a third party. This financial support often includes tuition, incidental fees, health insurance and living expenses.

Exchange student

A student from a partner university taking part in an exchange at the University of Ottawa. The exchange is based on an agreement between the student’s home university and the host university (the University of Ottawa).

Visiting international student

A student from a non-partner university, coming for 1 or 2 terms only, without being registered in an actual program of study. No degree will be granted but only an official transcript at the end of his or her stay.
